Falling with Grace
I started this painting at the end of 2020. I had lost my job during the pandemic and, like most people, I felt like the ground beneath me had collapsed, like I was falling and couldn’t tell which way was up. But as I continued to work on the painting, it became more hopeful. Figures emerged that were moving gracefully and with control, swimming upwards with intention.
