Playing with the imaginary
Playing with the imaginary
This mixed media painting began with a found drawing. In between the pages of one of my large art books, I discovered this cut-out drawing of a flower. The drawing was done by a mystery child - one of the many students that I had taught over the years in elementary school art programs and summer camps. I loved the drawing, and considered it a gift. The flower became the center of this verdant world, the impetus for my imagination to fill in the blanks and surround it with life.
